Argentina, Brazil and Bangladesh have all slipped in the latest live rankings released by FIFA.
Argentina dropped one place to third. This happened before their first match of the break against Mauritania. Brazil also went down after losing their first match of the year. They fell from fifth to sixth. Bangladesh dropped as well after a 3-0 loss to Vietnam. The side, coached by Javier Cabrera, moved from 180th to 182nd.
FIFA has started a new system this month. Rankings now change after every match. Before this, FIFA only updated rankings after the full international window. Fans had to guess how results would affect the table.
Several matches took place on Thursday. These games caused more changes in the rankings. A day earlier, France beat Brazil in a friendly match. France won 2-1 even with 10 players. Kylian Mbappé scored, and Hugo Ekitike added the winning goal.
That win helped France move up to second place. Argentina’s drop pushed them to third.
Brazil’s fall helped Portugal climb to fifth. They will play Mexico next. Cristiano Ronaldo leads the team.
There were no other changes in the top ten. Spain stayed at number one. England remained fourth. Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium and Germany kept their places in the top ten.
The rankings will keep changing after each match in this window. FIFA will publish the final list on April 1.
