Defending champions Bangladesh will look to maintain their winning momentum as they take on Bhutan in their third match of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship, scheduled to be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital tomorrow (Tuesday).
The match is set to kick off at 3:00 pm, followed by the day’s second fixture between Nepal and Sri Lanka at 7:00 pm at the same venue.
Bangladesh currently lead the league table with six points from two matches. Nepal trail behind with three points from two outings. The hosts made an emphatic start to their campaign, hammering Sri Lanka 9-1 before narrowly defeating Nepal 3-2 in a tightly contested encounter.
Nepal also began the tournament strongly, registering a convincing 6-1 win over Bhutan in their opener, but fell short against Bangladesh in their second outing.
Bangladesh will face Bhutan again on 17 July, Sri Lanka on 19 July, and conclude the double round-robin phase with a rematch against Nepal on 21 July.
The sixth edition of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship features just four teams—Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. The team finishing top of the table at the end of the round-robin phase will be crowned champions.
