Bangladesh A are scheduled to leave for Australia on 7 August to take part in the Top End T20 Series, a tournament regarded as a significant event in the global T20 calendar.
This will mark Bangladesh’s second appearance in the competition, which features teams from Australia’s Big Bash League, Pakistan A and the Nepal national side. The tournament is set to get underway on 14 August in Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory.
Initially slated to depart on 9 August, a change in travel plans has brought the departure date forward, prompting adjustments in domestic preparation.
The squad has been based in Chattogram over the past month as part of their training camp and are scheduled to play three practice matches against the High Performance Unit. The first of these matches is being played today, with the remaining two to be held under lights on 1 and 3 August at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The tour is viewed as an opportunity to gather valuable insight into Australian conditions ahead of the Bangladesh national team’s tour of Australia next year, their first visit to the country in over two decades.
