Australia put up a batting show in the third ODI against South Africa. The home side piled up 431 for 2 in 50 overs. It was their second highest score in one-day cricket. Their highest remains 434 for 4 against South Africa in 2006 at Johannesburg.

Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh set the stage early. They added 250 runs together in just 34.1 overs. Head smashed 142 from 103 balls. He looked back in form with clean strokes all around the ground.

Marsh, the captain scored a fine hundred from 106 deliveries. His shots down the ground looked powerful and precise.

Cameron Green came next and raised the tempo further. He reached his hundred in only 47 balls. It was the second fastest century for Australia in ODIs. Green finished unbeaten on 118 from just 55 balls. He dominated with big pulls and slogs that cleared the ropes.

Alex Carey played the anchor in the end. He made 50 not out from 37 balls. His role helped push the total beyond 430.

Australia’s batting looked unstoppable. South Africa’s bowlers had no answer to the onslaught.
