Amidst a wave of ‘rumours and fabricated claims’ circulating on social media and in sections of the press, leading communications group Asiatic 3sixty has issued a strong statement rejecting allegations of corruption and misconduct.

In a release, the company said a “vested quarter” motivated by self-interest was spreading misinformation implicating Asiatic, its affiliated firms, and board members. The false accusations, the company noted, included allegations relating to fake gold medals, illicit links with CRI (Centre for Research and Information), corruption in organising national events such as the 50th anniversary of independence and Mujib Borsho, involvement in the Joy Bangla concerts, and monopolising Bangladesh’s advertising sector.

“Asiatic 3sixty had no role in the alleged supply of gold crests to international dignitaries — it only provided event management services,” the statement issued by Sara Zaker, Group Chairperson, clarified. It further emphasised that neither Iresh Zaker nor any entity under Asiatic 3sixty had any ties to CRI at any point.

Addressing concerns over government event management contracts, Asiatic explained that all projects were awarded through open tenders under strict government procurement regulations, ensuring transparency and compliance with global ethical standards. Similarly, regarding advertising, the company stated that it competes fairly through merit-based pitches, refuting claims of monopolistic dominance.

On the matter of the Joy Bangla concerts, Asiatic asserted that it had no involvement in organising the events, which were managed by other agencies.

Regarding the recent freezing of bank accounts belonging to Asiatic 3sixty, its affiliates, and directors, the company said it was blindsided by the move. “No prior notice or official communication was given,” the statement said, adding that its legal team has contacted authorities to seek clarification. The freeze threatens the livelihoods of more than 700 permanent employees, 4,000 contractual workers, and over 500 vendors across Bangladesh, the company warned.

Founded in 1966 by the late Aly Zaker, a pioneer of Bangladesh’s marketing communications industry and a respected cultural figure, Asiatic 3sixty reiterated its commitment to operating with honesty, transparency, and integrity. Over the past five years, the company said it had contributed more than BDT 750 crore to the national treasury through taxes and fees.

“Asiatic was built on the principles of excellence, honesty, and service to the nation,” said Group Chairperson Sara Zaker. “We remain committed to upholding these values and continuing our contribution to Bangladesh’s creative and communications industries.”
