In a message posted on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman extended heartfelt greetings to the nation and members of the Bangladesh Army.

The Army Chief stated, “Eid-ul-Adha shines with the glory of profound devotion to Almighty Allah and supreme sacrifice. On this joyous and sacred occasion, I extend my sincere Eid Mubarak to all officers, junior commissioned officers, soldiers of all ranks, civilian officials, and employees of the Bangladesh Army serving at home and abroad, along with their families.”

“On this holy day, I reverently remember those valiant soldiers whose sacrifices secured our beloved independence. I also recall those who laid down their lives to protect the nation’s integrity during counter-terrorism operations in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and while enhancing the country’s prestige through UN peacekeeping missions. Today, I pray for the salvation of all martyrs’ souls and express deep sympathy to their bereaved families,” he added.

The Army Chief further mentioned, “On this festive day, I extend my sincere Eid greetings to all army personnel stationed away from their families while performing their duties in various parts of the country, including the Chittagong Hill Tracts, and those serving in peacekeeping missions abroad, along with their families.”

“May our military lives be illuminated by the unique glory of sacrifice and joy of Eid-ul-Adha. I pray that every member of the Army finds inspiration in the spirit of sacrifice, and that mutual harmony and brotherhood prevail among all. This is my earnest prayer to the Almighty,” concluded the Army Chief.
