After losing the toss, Antigua were sent in to bat and got off to a poor start. In the very first over, Jewel Andrew was dismissed without scoring, attempting to play a fuller delivery from Kyle Mayers on the on side, only to be caught by Gudakesh Motie. Soon after, fellow opener Rahkeem Cornwall departed as well, giving a catch to Jason Holder at mid-off while trying to attack Fazalhaq Farooqi’s slower ball. The right-hander made just 3 runs from 6 balls.
Batting at number four, Bevon Jacobs also could not last long. He tried to pull a length ball from Naseem Shah outside off stump to the leg side but was caught by Athanaze at deep mid-wicket for just 1 run. Fabian Allen showed some promise but was bowled by left-arm spinner Waqar Salamkheil after scoring 12 off 10 deliveries.
Karima held one end together, scoring a brisk half-century. He reached his fifty from 30 balls with a boundary to third man off an outside edge against Salamkheil. His innings ended shortly after on 61 from 34 balls, which included eight fours and two sixes, when he top-edged a slower ball from Farooqi to keeper Andre Fletcher while trying to hit over extra cover.
At number six, Shakib Al Hasan started watchfully but fell for 11 from 16 balls, caught at long-off trying to hit Salamkheil for six. Smith and Ghazanfar followed quickly, and captain Imad Wasim was dismissed for 11.
Antigua were eventually bowled out for 121 runs. For St Kitts, Salamkheil took 4 wickets for 22 runs in his four overs, while Farooqi and Naseem claimed two wickets each.
