As the election draws near, conspiracies are intensifying, said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. He further claimed that “anti-democratic forces are specifically targeting the nationalists.”
Rizvi made these remarks on Friday afternoon during his address as the chief guest at a rally organised by Bogura District BNP to mark the party’s 47th founding anniversary at Shaheed Titu Auditorium.
He said, “The party is being subjected to mob culture, cyberbullying, and various other forms of harassment. But BNP’s connection with the soil and people of this country remains unwavering.
“No matter how many conspiracies arise, they will fail. No conspiracy can withstand the power of the people.”
Rizvi further claimed, “BNP does not engage in the politics of servitude to any foreign power.”
Criticising Sheikh Hasina’s authoritarian rule, he said, “During Hasina regime, the country’s rivers, canals, and wetlands were leased to a neighboring country. She gave away the country’s resources to please her foreign masters.”
Referring to ongoing plots against BNP, Rizvi said, “A certain quarter is conspiring to obstruct the election process by targeting BNP. There will be no more elections conducted in the style of Bakshali. Democracy will return to the country, and free and fair elections will be held.”
At the rally, BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Helal Uzzaman Talukdar Lalu, former MP Kazi Rafiqul Islam, former Mayor and District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha, and acting general secretary of the district BNP and former MP Md Mosharraf Hossain were also present.
