A court in Dhaka has placed former law minister Anisul Huq, former shipping minister Shajahan Khan and Salman F Rahman, former adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on a two-day remand each in case filed over the murder of Sajedur Rahman during last year’s mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the order on Monday after police produced the trio before the court with a five-day remand in the case filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
According to the case documents, the victim Sajedur Rahman Omar, 20, participated in anti-discrimination student movement in Jatrabari area of the capital and sustained bullet injuries.
He died on July 24 while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
