Carlos Alcaraz has accepted a friendly golf challenge from Hollywood star Tom Holland after cruising into the Wimbledon semi-finals with a straight-sets win over Britain’s Cameron Norrie on 9 July.

Following his Centre Court victory, the defending champion revealed that he and the Spiderman actor had a chat earlier in the day after his practice session, during which the conversation turned to golf.

“Tom, I saw you playing golf as well. Good swing, good swing, eh?” Alcaraz said with a smile, recalling their exchange.

Holland, a known tennis fan who is currently performing in Romeo and Juliet on stage in London, responded: “We should play. I’ll give you my number and we’ll get a game together.”

With two rest days before his semi-final clash against American fifth seed Taylor Fritz on Friday, Alcaraz said he’s keen to make the match happen.

“Once we set up a match on golf, I just go for it,” the world number two told reporters at the All England Club. “I see him playing sometimes. There are some videos of him playing golf. I would say he could beat me.”

Alcaraz, a five-time Grand Slam winner aiming for a third consecutive Wimbledon title, often unwinds between matches by playing golf or exploring London. He recently teed off with former champion Andy Murray before the tournament began.

Now, he’s eager for a celebrity round.

“I would love to play against him on the golf course,” said Alcaraz. “For me it would be such an honour. I will try to set it up in these two days that I’ll have some time. Let’s see if he’s available, and we’ll tee it up.”
