Air Force jet crashes in Uttara

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft has crashed near Milestone College in the Diabari area of Uttara, Dhaka. The incident occurred early this afternoon, triggering an emergency response from the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The aircraft took off at 13:06 (1:06 PM), according to an Inter-Service Public Relations statement confirmed.

Lima Khanam, Duty Officer at the Fire Service control room, confirmed the incident. “We received the report at 1:18 PM that a jet had crashed near Milestone College in Uttara. Three of our units are currently working at the scene, and two additional units are en route,” she said. “We do not have any further details at the moment.”

It has been confirmed that Squadron Leader Tawkir was on board the aircraft at the time of the crash. His condition remains unknown as rescue efforts continue. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
