The world has changed ever since artificial intelligence (AI) has shown its presence. It is a miracle to think about how AI has changed the way we work and how short time it takes for a tedious job is completed. As time progresses, AI is learning new things and new information are fed into the system of their choice making AI the new powerhouse. As we know that there are two sides of a coin and it is not new in the case of AI and its usage. AI has changed the world of journalism by providing text information and finding SEO friendly hashtags for outreach.
Computers are the first forms of AI to be introduced to the world. Back then computers were humongous but were able to process data effectively although lots of mistakes were made. It should be noted that what once used to be a pile of papers and folders would now be stored digitally which would be accessed later.
Since the introduction of the Internet, people have started to work on making the artificial intelligence more intelligent and input new knowledge. This has led to the creation of generative AI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Leonardo and Claude. One way how these made the job easier is by allowing people with zero coding experience to create a code which can be tuned for the perfect result. Entrepreneurs are taking advantage of certain websites (such as Perplexity) which can create websites and apps without writing a single line of code. Instead, prompting is the way to get the most accurate results.
Artificial Intelligence also has put its hands on the news agencies and made their work easier than ever. The first newspaper was handwritten and originated in the Italian city of Venice. The newspapers were mostly full of news related to war in Italy and Europe. In 1814, The Times was the first newspaper agency who acquired the technology of creating around 1100 inspirations in an hour. This technology of theirs was able to print on both sides and made it easier for the agency to print more newspapers than ever. With this technology introduced into this line, the newspapers became even cheaper and easier for distribution.
By late 18th century, traditional newspapers were replaced with the usage of telegram connections. This made spreading the news even wider and easier for agencies. The cost of production of newspapers reduced even more after the invention of wood pulp as the first prototypes of newspapers were created using rags. This increased distribution of newspapers increased the literacy rate in the 19th century as many people were looking forward to reading them as pleasure and to get information.
Leaping into the 20th century, newspaper agencies are finding themselves drowning in the heaps of options available in order to obtain information they want. Generative AI are making it easier for paraphrasing news (given that the prompt is written with true efficiency and that heaps of sources are available). These AI tools are also capable of creating feature materials and opinions with a neutral leaning tone. Even though they are capable of creating such content, many newspaper agencies have to tweak the answer so that it fits within their rules and regulations. Still, this has to be said that generative AI is making the work of writers much easier.
It’s not only the generative AI who are playing big roles in newspaper agencies. Other AI tools are used to be creative. AI apps such as Midjourney, Claude, and so on create images of various sorts which can be edited and rendered to be placed in a newspaper. Apps such as Perplexity and Replit are perfect to create a timeline and map in what should be done in order to get the perfect result. Changes can be there as well as AI has given the flexibility in order to get the job done perfectly.
In the modern time, the most important skill to master AI is prompt engineering. Prompt engineering is simply writing prompts as clearly as possible so that the AI can produce the information provided and can deliver the near perfect output. Even though AI is doing most of the work, there still needs to be some human hand because AI is still learning. It is only a matter of writing the pitch perfect prompt so that the AI can understand what it needs to do. It is somewhat like teaching a toddler on how to deal with life.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is another skill which is needed in order to get to the top of the search results. There are lots of AI tools (both paid and free) that will give instant SEO results within the click of a button. If SEO is not done perfectly, then there is no way to reach the top of the search page.
Despite the presence of free and paid versions of AI apps, it is best to find the perfect pricing for the facilities that you will receive in order to get the job done more efficiently. Now, why do I say this? It is because paid apps (especially trusted ones) are ideal and they have the experts who are working in the line which will allow them to get the perfect results in the shortest amount of time. Free apps, on the other hand, may not fully provide the results necessary for a great analysis and research.
