After a successful seven-week run in theaters across Bangladesh, Tanim Noor’s critically acclaimed film Utshob is now slated to be streaming on OTT platform Chorki August 7.
Originally released during Eid-ul-Azha, Utshob garnered widespread praise and reached audiences not only across the country but also among Bengali-speaking diasporas globally.
The star-studded cast includes Zahid Hasan, Jaya Ahsan, Aupee Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Tariq Anam Khan, Azad Abul Kalam, Intekhab Dinar, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Shoumya Joyti and Sadia Ayman, among others.
The story was developed by Tanim Noor, Ayman Asib Shadhin, Sushmoy Sarkar and Samiul Bhuiyan, while the screenplay and dialogues were written by Shadhin and Bhuiyan. Rashed Zaman served as the film’s director of photography.
Chorki has also announced that alongside Utshob, Shakib Khan-starred ‘Taandob’ will also premiere on the same date, making August 7 a double treat for movie enthusiasts.
Speaking about the release, director Tanim Noor said, “OTT platforms have become essential for film distribution, allowing access to a global audience. For Bengali-speaking viewers, Chorki is a trusted and familiar name.”
He added, “It’s a joy to bring Utshob to this platform. Now, audiences in regions without theatres, and viewers abroad can experience the film. I hope people watch it at home with their families, just like we used to enjoy dramas and films together in our childhood.”
