Adviser Mahfuz’s father elected as secretary of Isapur Union BNP

Azizur Rahman Bachchu, the father of Information Adviser Mahfuz Alam, has been elected as the General Secretary of the Isapur Union BNP in Ramganj upazila, Lakshmipur.

The announcement was confirmed by Ramganj upazila BNP convener Mojammel Hossain Maju on Friday, August 22.

Bachchu, who contested the election with the “Murgi” (Rooster) symbol, secured 266 votes, winning the position. Prior to this, he served as the Vice President of Isapur Union BNP.

The voting took place on Thursday, August 21, at the Shrirampur High School in Isapur Union, where a total of 453 voters participated.

In the same election, Md. Oli Ullah was elected as the President of the Isapur Union BNP with 255 votes, using the “Chhata” (Umbrella) symbol. Jahangir Alam Samrat, contesting with the “Machh” (Fish) symbol, was elected as the Organizing Secretary with 241 votes.

The election event was attended by BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny as the chief guest. Other notable guests included district BNP Secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu, Joint Convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman, BAFUF Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, BLDP Chairman Shahadat Hossain Selim, and former Vice President of the Central Youth BNP Imam Hossain.
