Police have recovered Tk2.98 lakh from another rented flat of Abdur Razzak Bin Solaiman alias Riad, the former leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement arrested for extorting money from the house of Awami League former MP Shammi Ahmed.

The raid was conducted early Thursday at a flat in Badda. Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Hafizur Rahman confirmed the recovery, stating that the cash was part of the Tk10 lakh extorted from Shammi Ahmed’s residence.

Riad’s second flat was traced based on information he gave during interrogation. According to police, Riad lived regularly at the Badda flat and occasionally visited another flat in West Rajabazar.

After receiving the extorted amount, Riad and his associates allegedly divided the money. Riad kept his share at the Badda residence, which was recovered in the raid.
