The curtain rose on Friday afternoon at the Captain’s Arena Football Turf in Isdair, Narayanganj. The colourful ceremony was inaugurated by Mr Maqsoodul Alam Khondaker Khorshed, former councillor of Narayanganj City Corporation, social worker, and alumnus of the Adarsha School class of 1990.
The event brought together a wide array of guests and dignitaries. Among the special invitees were the head teacher of Adarsha School Narayanganj, Md Azizur Rahman; former national cricketer Shahriar Hossain Bidyut; tax adviser Rashidul Islam Sejin; businessman Ashrafuzzaman Hira; and sports organiser Arif Mihir, the Rover Commissioner of Narayanganj District Scouts. Active alumni association members Jahidul Islam and Abdullah Yusuf Saad also took part, alongside senior ex-students and community figures who lent warmth and energy to the gathering.
Adding prestige to the occasion, national women’s football goalkeeping coach and proud alumnus of the 1998 batch, Mr Masud Ahamad Uzzal, has been named the brand ambassador of the tournament.

In their remarks, the speakers underscored the importance of friendship, unity and healthy competition between former and current students. They stressed that the carnival is more than just a series of games, describing it as a bridge connecting generations through sport.
Tournament structure
A total of 22 teams, covering batches from 1990 to 2024, are competing in this year’s edition. Six teams from the 1990–2008 period make up the Senior Group, while 16 teams from the 2010–2024 period are divided into four groups under the Junior Group.
One champion will be crowned from each group. Matches began on 22 August, while the final, prize-giving and closing ceremony are scheduled for 5 September.
