Abrar to take oath as adviser to interim government

Chowdhury R Abrar is set to be sworn in as a new adviser to the interim administration which came into being in August last year, a senior official said on Tuesday.

Abrar is expected to take the charge of the Ministry of Education, Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the Chief Adviser, told reporters.

The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held at 11 am on Wednesday.

Abrar, once take oath, will replace Wahiduddin Mahmud, currently holds the position of Education Adviser.

Abrar is a professor of International Relations at the University of Dhaka. He completed his studies at the University of Dhaka, the University of Sussex, and Griffith University in Australia.

His works have been featured in volumes published by Westview Press, Blackwell, Earthscan, and Macmillan India.
