The “Digital Skills for Students” initiative, under the ICT Division’s EDGE project, has launched training for madrasa students across the country to enhance their digital literacy.

Launched under the leadership of Faiz Ahmad Taiyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, the program aims to equip madrasa students with essential IT skills, focusing on productivity tools like Microsoft Office and graphic design, preparing them for the competitive job market.

The program kicked off on August 16 with 160 students from Gorostan Jamia Islamia Darus-Sunnah Madrasa in Tangail, marking the start of a month-long training. Over the coming months, 740 students from Tangail, Chattogram, and Comilla will participate in this initiative. The program is being supported by Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and Bangladesh Rural Development Academy (BARD).

The EDGE project team believes that this initiative will foster confidence in using modern technology, positioning madrasa students for success in both national and international job markets, while contributing to the development of a tech-savvy youth generation in Bangladesh.
