Director Vicky Zahed returns with his latest project ‘Aka’, a thriller web series starring Afran Nisho and Masuma Rahman Nabila in the lead roles.
Speaking about the production, Zahed said, “Making Aka has been a deeply emotional journey for me. I’ve directed many thrillers before, but this is my first social thriller. Through this series, I’ve tried an experiment with the audience. Once it’s released, I’ll be keen to see the response.”
He added, “I’ve worked with Nisho Bhai many times before, but this is our first collaboration on a series. Working with him is always a special experience. Nabila Apu was also extremely cooperative. Altogether, Aka will be a special project for all of us.”
Afran Nisho, who has recently delivered two successful films on the big screen, is returning to OTT after almost three years.
“I’m very optimistic about this series,” he said. “I hope the audience will enjoy this new style of thriller.”
Nabila shares that optimism. “As my first series, Aka is very special to me. I hope the audience will love not only the story, atmosphere and production, but also my character,” she said.
Shot across various locations in Dhaka, Aka weaves together themes of justice and injustice, vengeance and retribution, suspense and mystery. The series will premiere on Hoichoi in September this year.
