The Bangladesh Under20 Women’s National Football Team continued their preparations for the upcoming tournament with a sharp and focused training session at 6:00 AM this morning on the same field as yesterday.

With their first match against Laos scheduled for 6 August, the team has entered full match preparation mode. Under the watchful eye of their coaching staff, the players worked on both attacking patterns and defensive discipline in what was their second official training of the campaign.

Goalkeeper coach Masud Ahmed spoke after the session and expressed satisfaction with the players’ attitude and output.

“Assalamu Alaikum. This was our second day of training. Today, our main focus was to work separately on attack and defence,” Masud said. “Defensively, we want to deny space to our opponents as much as possible, and when we attack, we aim to stretch the field and find space to exploit. Alhamdulillah, the girls worked really hard, and we’re happy with how the session went.”

When asked about the upcoming Laos fixture and broader tournament expectations, Masud emphasised a matchbymatch approach.

“We’re preparing for each game individually, and the first match is especially important. Our goal is to reach the next round, and starting with a win will help us move closer to that,” he explained.

He also praised the players for their attacking drills. “In attack, the girls have done well, and we’re pleased with their response. We’ve set our sights firmly on the Laos game. A positive result there will boost our chances of progressing.”

The coaching staff also has one eye on future opponents. “Once our first match is done, the other two teams will have played against each other. That will give us an opportunity to analyse them more closely and develop strategies to win those games too.”

As the countdown to kickoff continues, the energy and intent within the Bangladesh U20 camp are unmistakable. Focused, organised, and hungry for success, they look ready to make a strong start to their tournament campaign.
