President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has visited Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, who is undergoing treatment at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in Dhaka.
The president arrived at the hospital around 9:30am and spent time at the minister’s bedside, said his Assistant Private Secretary Mohammad Yunus Ali. Doctors briefed him on the minister’s condition.
He also spoke with the minister’s son Abed Hasan Mahmud.
State Minister for Energy Aninda Islam Amit, the president’s Military Secretary Major General ASM Bahauuddin, and personal physician Colonel AKM Faizul Haque were present.
Tuku was admitted to the hospital at 10:30pm Tuesday after suffering from high fever for several days.
Doctors advised admission for tests and advanced treatment, his son said adding that the minister is under close observation.
