Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain proposed stronger sports cooperation between Bangladesh and Morocco through technical support, training, and sharing of experiences. He also suggested arranging a friendly football match between the two countries’ national teams.
He said this during a bilateral meeting that took place in Rabat on Wednesday between Bangladesh Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud and Moroccan Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports Mohammed Saad Berrada.
Asif Mahmud also invited Minister Berrada to the Global Youth Summit 2025.
At the beginning of the talks, Minister Berrada highlighted Morocco’s integrated framework for education and sports, including its “Study and Sports” model, which has helped reduce student dropout rates. He also underlined Morocco’s efforts to expand access to preschool education and strengthen early learning systems, reports BSS.
Adviser Asif Mahmud praised the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and congratulated Morocco on its achievements in education and sports. He said Morocco’s integrated model could serve as an international role model.
In reply, Minister Berrada commended Bangladesh’s recent progress in youth development and education.
He explained that Morocco is prioritising preschool education and making classrooms more engaging through digital technologies. Academic data is now being stored in a national database to help with policymaking and monitoring, he added.
Both sides expressed hope that the meeting would help further strengthen education and sports cooperation and deepen bilateral relations in the years ahead.
