NCC Bank has launched a suite of tech-driven services, including a multi-currency debit card and mobile app, tailored for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs), as part of its International MSME Day celebration held on Monday.
The initiatives include the unveiling of the SME Visa Multi-Currency Debit Card, the “NCC Always” mobile app, and QR code and chatbot features—all designed to ease financial access and boost digital banking for small entrepreneurs, says a press release.
At a customer event in Dhaka, the bank also disbursed loans openly and hosted an awareness workshop on CMSME financing.
The occasion drew senior officials from both NCC Bank and Bangladesh Bank, along with dozens of SME clients and stakeholders.
Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin said the bank is committed to evolving with the needs of CMSME clients.
“To support this vital sector, we have already launched four new financial products: NCC Commercial Building Loan, NCC Commercial Vehicle Loan, NCC Supply Chain Finance, and NCC SME Business Account,” he announced.
Bangladesh Bank’s SME and Special Programmes Department Director Naushad Mostafa, who attended as chief guest, praised the bank’s progress in CMSME lending and urged more investment.
He stressed the role of CMSMEs in economic development and reaffirmed Bangladesh Bank’s commitment to policy support for the sector.
Additional Managing Director M Khorshed Alam highlighted that nearly 25 percent of the country’s GDP comes from CMSMEs.
“This sector drives rural economies, and financial inclusion is crucial for its growth,” he noted.
The programme also featured the presence of other NCC Bank DMDs, senior Bangladesh Bank officials, and SME clients. Arefin concluded by stating the bank’s future plans include more customised financial products to better serve small business clients in the evolving digital economy.
