Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a large quantity of smuggled goods worth approximately Tk7.5 crore during raids in various border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts.
Colonel Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury, commander of BGB’s Sylhet Sector, disclosed this information during a press briefing on Saturday.
The seized items, confiscated on Friday by BGB’s 48 Battalion, included Indian cosmetics, chocolates, liquor, and boats used for illegal stone extraction.
Additionally, a patrol team from the battalion headquarters conducted a joint operation with the army, recovering a significant quantity of Indian sarees and cosmetics from Fatehpur in Haripur area along the Tamabil-Sylhet highway.
