OPPO Bangladesh, in collaboration with Pathshala South Asian Institute of Photography, has launched a nationwide smartphone photography competition aimed at promoting visual storytelling through mobile devices.
The competition, titled the OPPO Reno15 Series 5G Photography Contest, has been introduced under the theme Every Photo Tells A Story, according to a press release.
Organisers said the contest invites photographers from across the country to submit images that go beyond visual appeal, placing emphasis on emotion, context and narrative depth.
Entries will be accepted across five categories—Portrait, Nature and Wildlife, Street and Architecture, Low Light, and Heritage and Culture—with each submission required to include a short written story explaining the background or meaning behind the photograph.
Participation has been kept open and straightforward, allowing interested photographers to register on the dedicated platform at opposshot.com using their mobile number and email address before selecting a category and uploading a high-quality photograph in JPEG or PNG format.
The organisers said the storytelling element lies at the heart of the contest, reinforcing the idea that a photograph reaches its full expression when paired with intention and meaning.
The competition offers a reward structure combining financial incentives and professional training opportunities.
The grand winner will receive Tk1 lakh in cash, the latest OPPO flagship smartphone and a professional photography course at Pathshala.
The second prize winner will be awarded Tk50,000, an OPPO smartphone and a Pathshala photography course, while the third prize winner will receive Tk30,000 along with an OPPO smartphone and the same training opportunity.
In addition, five winners will be selected from each of the five categories, with each category winner receiving Tk20,000 in cash, an OPPO smartphone and a photography course at Pathshala.
OPPO Bangladesh said the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting creative expression and nurturing emerging visual storytellers through smartphone technology.
