Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus left Dhaka for London on Monday evening for a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

An Emirates Airlines flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his delegation left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London at 7:30pm.

Muhammad Yunus is expected to meet with King Charles III and hold bilateral talks with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The chief adviser is also anticipated to meet with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, other senior ministers, political leaders, and prominent business figures during his visit.

In recognition of his globally significant contributions, King Charles III has nominated Muhammad Yunus for the King Charles III Harmony Award 2025. The honor acknowledges his lifelong work promoting peace, sustainability, and harmony between people and the environment. The award ceremony will take place on June 12 at St. James’s Palace in London.

The King’s Foundation – a UK-based charity established by the then Prince of Wales in 1990 – annually presents this prestigious award to individuals demonstrating exemplary achievements in sustainable development and humanitarian causes.

During his visit, Yunus is expected to hold courtesy meetings with the Secretaries-General of the Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), where he will highlight Bangladesh’s broader international engagements.

As part of his public diplomacy efforts, he will deliver a special address at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) on June 11.

The Chief Adviser is scheduled to return home on June 14.
