Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman visited the Chattogram area on Thursday to review the overall law and order situation and inspect army personnel deployed under “in aid to the civil power.”
The visit was conducted in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.
According to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army chief observed the activities of deployed troops on the ground, issued necessary instructions, and exchanged views with members of the civil administration.
During his visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman held meetings at the Chittagong Circuit House with senior military officers, divisional commissioners, law enforcement officials from various districts, and representatives of the civil administration.
The discussions focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination and ensuring comprehensive security management to facilitate the peaceful, impartial, and fair conduct of the forthcoming election.
The Army chief emphasised the importance of professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience, and citizen-friendly conduct, urging all concerned parties to perform their duties with the highest level of responsibility.
The visit was attended by high-ranking officials, including the general officer commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the commandant of EBRC, and the adjutant general.
Other senior officers from Army Headquarters and Chattogram Area Command were also present, alongside divisional commissioners, senior civil administration officials, and representatives from various media outlets.
