Indian security forces have demolished the Kashmir residence of Umar Mohammad, also identified as Umar un-Nabi, the individual believed to be responsible for the recent car explosion in the area of Delhi’s historic Red Fort.
The operation, carried out in the early hours of Friday, targeted the doctor’s house located in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
Official probes into the Monday evening blast, which resulted in 13 fatalities and more than 20 individuals sustaining injuries.
They established that Umar, who was employed as a doctor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was operating the Hyundai i20 vehicle when it detonated close to a traffic signal on Netaji Subhash Marg near the Red Fort.
His identity was conclusively verified through the matching of DNA evidence retrieved from the scene of the explosion with samples provided by his mother.
Similar punitive measures involving property demolition were previously enacted against individuals implicated in orchestrating the Pahalgam terror attack.
The incident in the national capital was preceded by a significant seizure of approximately 2,900 kilograms of materials used for making bombs, alongside advanced weaponry including assault rifles.
This recovery was uncovered from Muzammil and Shaheen Saeed, both doctors and known associates of Umar.
The two doctors are currently under detention and are undergoing intensive interrogation to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy behind the stockpiling of such a vast quantity of explosives in Faridabad.
Investigating officials theorise that a module affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat Ul-Hind groups was planning a more extensive assault, and the Delhi explosion was a consequential act of panic by Umar following the apprehension of his accomplices.
