977 establishments were named after Hasina, family

The interim government is going to rename 977 infrastructures and institutions across the country that were previously named after ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and other members of her family.

According to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s office, “During the previous government’s 16-year tenure, a total of 977 infrastructures and institutions across the country were named after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members, and Awami League politicians,” including military cantonments, airbases, naval ships, mega-bridges, roads, buildings, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, research centres, and various other institutions.

These included military cantonments, air bases, naval ships, mega bridges, roads, buildings, educational institutions, hospitals, and research centres.
