The government has arranged eight special trains to transport students and attendees from outside Dhaka for the August 5 unveiling of the “July Declaration,” according to Bangladesh Railway sources.

The Liberation War Affairs Ministry coordinated with the Railways Ministry following a request from the Directorate of July Mass Uprising, which on August 3 sought transportation arrangements for participants traveling to the capital.

The trains will operate on eight routes: Dhaka-Chattogram, Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Rajshahi, Dhaka-Rangpur, Dhaka-Gazipur, Dhaka-Narsingdi, Dhaka-Narayanganj, and Dhaka-Bhanga.

Scheduled to depart originating stations between 2pm and 3pm, the special services will return from Dhaka around 9pm the same day. Bangladesh Railway expects to earn Tk30.45 lakh from transporting approximately 5,200 passengers.

Railway officials confirmed the special services won’t disrupt regular train schedules. “Anyone can hire trains following due procedures,” said Railway spokesperson Afzal Hossain.

The interim government will formally announce the July Declaration at 5:00pm on Manik Mia Avenue, Chief Adviser’s Press Wing sources confirmed.
