A grand passing-out parade was held on Sunday morning (22 June) at the parade ground of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah to mark the successful completion of training for the 168th TRC batch comprising 357 trainee police constables.
Additional Inspector General of Police and Principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy Md. Zillur Rahman attended the ceremony as chief guest. Addressing the trainees, he said that Bangladesh, overcoming all obstacles, is now recognized as a stable and dignified state globally. The government is making relentless efforts to enhance police training and equip the force with modern technology to transform it into a world-class, service-oriented institution.
Speaking to the new graduates, Rahman noted, “Your basic training, which began on 16 February 2025, ends today. From this moment, you are a group of talented and capable police officers who will dedicate themselves to upholding the rule of law and serving the citizens directly at the grassroots level. Today, the responsibilities of Bangladesh Police have increased manifold compared to the past, and the work environment has also become more complex. Even amid these challenges, ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order is our foremost commitment.”
He emphasized that ensuring the safety of people and property and preserving social peace and order are the primary duties of police. “As time changes, so do our duties and the strategies of criminals. Our police force must continue to adapt and modernize itself to face new challenges,” he added.
Senior police and military officials, civil servants, TRC trainees’ guardians, local dignitaries, and media representatives were present at the event. Earlier, the chief guest attended the parade and took the salute. Later, he distributed awards and certificates to trainees who had excelled in different areas of training.
