26 out of 30 parties submit opinions on July Charter draft

As the 25th and 26th parties, Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Nagarik Oikya submitted their opinions on the draft of the July Charter to the National Consensus Commission office on Sunday.

With these two parties submitting their views, a total of 26 political parties, including the BNP, have now submitted their opinions as of yesterday. However, out of the 30 parties from whom the Commission sought opinions on the July Charter, four parties have yet to submit their feedback.

The National Consensus Commission stated that due to some errors in the initial draft sent to political parties on the night of August 16, a corrected and accurate draft was later sent. The deadline for submitting any opinions on the draft was subsequently extended until 3pm on August 22.

By Friday, August 22, 24 parties had submitted their opinions. These parties are Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), National Citizen Party (NCP), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Khelafat Majlis, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh, Nationalist Like-Minded Alliance, 12-Party Alliance, Amjanata Party, Gono Forum, Bangladesh Socialist Party (BaSaD), National Gono Front, Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist), Ganosamhati Andolon, Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Bangladesh JASAD), Bangladesh Labour Party, Zaker Party, Bhashani Jonoshakti Party, Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party, and Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB).

On the other hand, the four political parties that have yet to submit their opinions are: Gono Odhikar Parishad, Rashtra Sangskar Andolon, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh, and Islami Oikya Jote.
