The 17th Syndicate meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) was held on 21 August 2025 at the conference room of the Dhaka Campus. The meeting was presided over by AAUB Vice Chancellor Air Vice Marshal A K M Manirul Bahar.
According to a press release, a significant moment of the meeting was the unanimous acceptance of a condolence proposal in honour of the pilot, young students, parents, teachers, and staff who tragically lost their lives in the recent aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Dhaka. The university also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
At the start of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor expressed his deep gratitude to the Almighty Allah (swt) for the health and safety of all attendees and highlighted the crucial role of AAUB in nation-building through education and development. He emphasized the importance of equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and creativity required to meet the challenges of the 4th industrial revolution.
“The university’s goal is clear: to foster a modern, innovative, and competitive academic environment that enables students to reach their full potential, particularly in the field of space research,” said Air Vice Marshal Bahar. He further stressed AAUB’s commitment to developing visionary human resources for the aviation and aerospace industry, both domestically and internationally, and supporting scientific research and innovation.
The Vice Chancellor also thanked the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh University Grants Commission, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Bangladesh Air Force for their steadfast support, which has been instrumental in the university’s achievements.
Following the Vice Chancellor’s address, the meeting saw thorough discussions on various agenda items, leading to several key decisions. The meeting was attended by members from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Air Force, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Dhaka University, BUET, and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, alongside AAUB’s internal members.
The discussions reflected the university’s ongoing efforts to position Bangladesh as a leading hub for aviation and aerospace education.
