At least 12 people were injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Saltha upazila of Faridpur on Tuesday.
At least 10 houses were also vandalised during the clash.
The incident took place at Baro Bangrail village, near Montarmore Bazar in Sonapur Union, around Tuesday afternoon.
Police and locals said a long-standing dispute over land had existed between Monir Biswas and Mishru Biswas of the village.
The two sides first became involved in a verbal altercation on Tuesday afternoon. At one stage, their supporters armed with locally made weapons clashed with each other.
The clash continued for about an hour, leaving at least 12 people injured.
Several seriously injured people were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, while others received treatment at local health facilities.
Attempts to contact Monir Biswas and Mishru Mia for their comments were unsuccessful.
Saltha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bablur Rahman Khan said police reached the scene after being informed of the clash and brought the situation under control.
“The situation is currently calm. Legal action over the incident is under process,” he said.
