For government officials and employees Wednesday will be their last working day before the holy Eid-ul-Adha. They will enjoy a continuous 10-day holiday from Thursday, June 5, to June 14.
On May 6, the Advisory Council meeting at the Secretariat decided to declare June 11 and 12 as holidays through an executive order. Additionally, it was decided to keep offices open on the two Saturdays before Eid.
Due to the two-day holiday declared by executive order, government employees will now get a total of 10 consecutive days off for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
On May 7, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring June 11 and 12 as holidays under executive order. The notification also stated that offices would remain open on the weekly holidays of May 17 and 24. Accordingly, offices remained open on those two Saturdays.
Government offices will remain closed from June 5 and are slated to reopen on June 15 after the holidays.
During the last Eid-ul-Fitr, there was a continuous nine-day holiday from March 28 to April 5.
